Our History

Jesus Loves You Ministry, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. We are the only Mobile Outreach Program for the Homeless in Port Charlotte, FL including those homeless coming out of jail or prison and/or those who may be suffering from substance and mental health issues. We provide a mobile food pantry to those homeless who cannot access soup kitchens or food pantries. The ultimate goal of our program is to help people become independently stable and in housing. We work with all human service, faith based and government providers to ensure our clients have the greatest opportunities

Jesus Loves You Ministry, Inc. (JLYM) became a 501C3 in 2008, under a different name. The name was changed to Jesus Loves You Ministry in 2010. The ministry began in Florida as a homeless outreach ministry with 4 transitional houses (privately owned by an individual). In 2012, the houses were sold and the mission was strictly homeless outreach with in-depth case management referring individuals experiencing homelessness to transitional housing and/or rehab treatment programs managed by other agencies.

In 2014 a couple provided all the funds for Jesus Loves You to purchase our existing building on Cedarwood Street in Port Charlotte. This 6,000 sq. ft. building is now used for onsite laundry & showers, meals, clothing exchange and housing case management appointments. JLYM acquired a mobile shower trailer in 2020 to expand our outreach programs to south Sarasota County.
