Ministry Questions
Jesus Loves You Ministry has limited resources and referrals for those facing imminent homelessness and those who are transitioning back into housing after homelessness, but most services are focused on those who are currently homeless.
Jesus Loves You Ministry provides basic survival items as available: Two-person tent, tarps, sleeping bag, blanket, pillow; a meal three times weekly with shower and clean clothing, laundry service twice weekly, consultation with client services staff as needed; information and assistance with cell phones, Medicaid, Social Security, driver’s licenses, and other community resources that may be available.
Depending on the circumstances, very limited financial help is available and is evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Generally, our budget does not allow rental assistance. Referrals to programs offering assistance with security deposit, etc. are available for eligible clients.
No. Case-by-case evaluation may, however, result in rare exceptions related to the health and safety of the individual.
The ministry is funded solely by support from the community. No government funding is received. Grant money that does not restrict the mission of sharing Jesus’ love is also utilized.
Thrift Store
Since our store staff is all volunteers, 100% of the money is utilized for the homeless.
Household items, kitchen items, clothing, limited small furniture items, ( i.e small bookcase, side tables, chairs.) Seasonal items are accepted prior to the holiday only.
Donations are sorted by volunteers. Items in good condition and practical for their lifestyle are given to our homeless friends weekly on shower days. Each receives a clean set of clothing. Items not suitable for them are sold in the thrift store. Our homeless friends often shop in the store also.
